The A2 CofC is a remote pilot competency certificate primarily intended to assure safe operations of drones close to uninvolved persons.
The GVC (General Visual Line of Sight Certificate) is the new CAA commercial standard in drone training allowing you to operate drones up to 25Kg commercially in the Specific Category of legislation.

A2 CofC & GVC - Online Course
After enrolment the comprehensive introduction module will guide you through the process of how to access the courses so you can obtain everything you need. Many people prefer web based training. if this is you then the this course is ideal.
Flexible Learning
It will take around 4 hours to complete the A2 CofC theory, and around 12-15 hours to complete the GVC theory phase, but there is no rush. You can learn at your own pace, you are in control and can decide how much you want to study and when.
You won’t be expected to go through lots of reference documents, the course is clearly laid out and all the information is easy to absorbed,

Theory Examination
On completion of the theory modules contact us to arrange a time for your exams that suits you.
You have the option to take an online exam, or visit our COVID safe South West training centre South of Bristol, the choice is yours.
The exam consists of multiple choice questions covering the content of the modules, and you will require a computer/laptop with webcam, speakers and microphone if taking your exams online.
Operations Manual (GVC)
We provide you with our excellent Operations Manual template resources to assist you in writing this CAA required document and will guide and support you through the process of shaping the document to suit your operations. We are professional auditors of CAA documents so you can be assured you get the best information and support.
Practical Flight Assessment (GVC)
The Practical Flight Assessment is primarily safety focused and tests a candidate’s flying skill and safe operational ability. This is set against the processes stated in your Operations Manual. We will provide you with close support and guidance documents leading up to the assessment so nothing will come as a surprise to you. Your Assessor will be looking for safe and competent flying – were not looking for Red Arrow drone pilots! Your instructor will quickly put you at your ease to ensure that you perform to your maximum capability.
To ease you into the assessment, we can provide pre-assessment flight training for those with some flying experience or train you to professional standard from scratch for those new to drones.
We have flight locations all over the UK as well as several locations at our regional drone training centre South of Bristol.
This course includes your flight assessment from one of our South West based assessment locations. If you are not South West based and require a flight assessment in your area, this can be arranged but a local assessment fee may apply. Please contact us for details before booking if you are not able to attend a South West based flight assessment.
The Flight Assessment process takes approximately 1hr.
CAA Operational Authorisation Application (GVC)
Once you have completed the process, you can then apply to the CAA for an Operational Authorisation. We will provide you with support for your application to the CAA.
*CAA GVC Operational Authorisation application fee is not included.
Self-Declaration of flight competence (A2 CofC)
Before we issue you an A2 CofC certificate, the CAA requires you make a declaration you are competent to fly in the Open Category of current UAS Legislation. For this, you need to ensure you are practised in the type of operations you will be using the A2 CofC for.
